By far THE BEST theater in the city! The uptown location is beautifully decorated, the sound is incredible, the screen is perfect, the seats are comfortable, staff accommodating, and movie selection so thoughtful. They ALWAYS stand up to support our community at an individual and macro level. We are so fortunate to have this historic gem and the people who do such a great job running it!

The highlight of my trip to New Orleans was discovering this amazing theatre. Kudos to my friend who was a film student at UNO. Before entering I was greeted by a friendly grey cat. The lobby was like stepping into a magical place with old school movie posters. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being there. I could just sit and talk story with strangers about cinema for hours. Wish I could travel to NOLA every month just to watch movies at the Prytania. Why I became an actor and filmmaker was confirmed here.

Love this old, one screen only well-preserved and well-kept historic local independent theater. Despite the age of the theater and not reclining, the seats are quite comfy. Friendly, great service. Purchase your movie ticket online or in person. 🎟

My friend and I went to see the Devil Wears Prada 2 at the Prytania Theatre this afternoon. Apart from the fact that we really enjoyed the movie very much, it was fabulous! It’s a tradition for me to get popcorn, but unfortunately, I’m always disappointed because it’s always too salty for me. But this time at the Prytania Theatre for the first time in my life, the food court cashier made us a brand new batch of unsalted pop corn!!! They care that you enjoy your time at the movies.
