Ahacool Kim 2 months agoRegal LA Live & 4DX — I visited on May 1, 2026 for the opening day of The Devil Wears Prada 2, and had a great experience. There’s a large parking structure nearby, and with theater validation, the parking fee is significantly reduced. The seats are very comfortable and fully adjustable — you can recline almost like lying down — with good cushioning. The screen quality is also sharp and clear. The theater is located next to LA Live, so there are plenty of restaurants and dining options within walking distance. Overall, a comfortable and convenient place to enjoy a movie in DTLA.
Julian C 2 months agoLiterally went there mainly just to experience 4DX. I first went there in 2014 for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", and the theater was amazing. Up until 2019, I would go there with my mom and dad, or either one for the 4D. I really like the theater's 2-story atmosphere and interior with previews playing on the TVs. I do like the amount of options available, and the premium formats like ICE Immersive and HDR by Barco. While I typically go for the 4DX, I did attend a Latin film festival once to see "La leyenda de las Momias" on the second floor, which was nice. Whenever I walk over to the auditorium on the bottom floor, I can see downtown LA while exploring all the potential movies I could see next - all while I'm anticipating how the film will play out. As for the location, I enjoy going to LA for this reason. Whenever I'd leave, my parents would drive me out of the parking lot, seeing the ads of the movies and formats, wondering if I'll ever experience them. Ever since 4DX came to Irvine, I came to LA Live less often, but I'd still go on occasion. Even then, it's still memorable to me. My first 4DX experience was in Guadalajara in 2012, and I was so excited when they brought it to the US for the first time two years later. And Los Angeles was the perfect place for it, especially in the downtown area. The fact that it's the first-ever 4DX in the US makes this place special. The room is kind of small, though - even compared to Irvine's. I really like the idea of a two-story theater, and a two-story auditorium. Now, I didn't know IMAX would be there since I last visited in 2024. The news really surprised me, but more importantly is that it used to be a "RealD Premiere Cinema" which makes sense considering its size. This place is a must-go for those living in Los Angeles and Orange County, and visitors as well. I like to consider this the flagship theater in Los Angeles. At least in downtown. Great work, Regal. Thank you so much for bringing 4DX to the US for the first time ever. While it's now more mainstream, I'll never forget the memories at your LA Live theater. And you made it better with recliner seats (according to the photos) and adding IMAX. Just check on the 4DX seats and its 3D screen from time to time.
Exploring opens the Heart a month agoHad such a great experience at Regal L.A. LIVE! The theater is clean, modern, and in a perfect location to watch the new movies for LA Film Festival. Seeing Steven Allericks Movie Testimony on the big screen was great. With comfortable seating, great sound and screen quality, and the staff was friendly. Loved being able to grab dinner and enjoy the atmosphere around L.A. LIVE before the movie. Definitely one of my favorite theaters in LA! 🎬✨
Grace-Anna Davis 9 months agoI visited in August 2025 and had such a great experience at this theater! The area was very walkable and the parking deck was spacious and not very far away. The seats inside the theater were very comfortable. While I don't recommend sitting front row like I did lol, I still had a nice view! Staff was very kind as well. Will be back!
funning a year agoI wanted to watch Ballerina(John Wick World) and they had several times as compared to other downtown LA locations. This was a good place to watch a movie with comfortable traditional seats that don’t recline back and lots of food options. The screen visuals and audio was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I’d definitely come back here again to watch other movies in the future.
