Wesley Swanson 4 months agoMy primary partner and I drove from Greensboro, NC, to McLean, VA, for a one-night IMAX showing of Kokuho. ✪ UPDATE: As 2/14/26 Google Maps has fixed the issue. ★ Getting there / parking tip: If you’re coming in on the Express Lanes, Google Maps may try to take you off the expressway and loop you back because it thinks you can make a right at the loop-back (you can’t). If you’re in the Express Lane, take the previous exit Westpark Dr (Tysons) and then follow the route “old school” for that last stretch. GPS kept trying to loop us back onto the expressway. Once inside the mall, it was simple, AMC is on the top floor by the food court. ★ Tickets: One of the kiosks wouldn’t pull up our tickets (seemed like it wasn’t working), but the second kiosk worked fine. ★ Concessions: Overall fine, but I wasn’t a fan of the cup lids being stored in between the machines, where you end up touching other lids just to grab one. Not ideal, and on a crowded day I probably wouldn’t bother with drinks because of that setup. ★ IMAX / auditorium: The IMAX room itself is nice. I wouldn’t call it a “true” IMAX if you’ve been to the big ones in NYC or California, but it’s an adequate screen, and the picture and sound were excellent. ★ Seats (K18 & K19): Somewhat comfortable, but definitely worn. My partner’s seat was slightly broken at the bottom (didn’t affect her comfort much), but my seat felt like it was folding inward unless I sat more upright, otherwise it felt like I was falling through it. ★ Overall: None of this took away from our movie experience, and the theater was clean from what we could tell. If we were in town, we’d absolutely come back (after checking what other theaters are nearby), but we wouldn’t drive another four hours specifically for this location again.
Bo 6 months agoThis is a huge cinema. Because they have so many screens, they carry almost everything including those smaller films that don't always make it to suburban theaters. The dedicated garage right next door makes getting in and out incredibly simple. It’s covered, convenient, and saves you from the typical Tysons traffic headache. Being attached to the mall means you can easily grab dinner or do some shopping before your showtime. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is the seating. Most of the theaters here still feature the traditional "stadium style" folding seats. If you’re used to the plush, power-operated recliners found at newer AMC locations, you might find these a bit dated for a long movie.
Huỳnh T. Hiếu - Huynh Liam LLC 8 months agoI had a great experience here! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The theater has a huge screen, the seats are super comfortable, and the sound system is amazing — really makes the movie feel more exciting. Definitely one of the best places to watch a movie in the area! 🎬🍿 ⸻
Charu Bhandari a month agoAMC Tysons Corner 16 gets a solid 4⭐ rating. This theater is almost always busy, so expect a bit of chaos, especially on weekends or big movie nights. Definitely come early because you’ll want the extra buffer time for parking, concessions, and getting settled before the movie starts. That said, it’s still one of the best IMAX theater experiences around. The screens, sound, and overall movie experience make it worth dealing with the crowds. If you’re looking for a great place to watch a big release, this is a strong choice.
The Dragonfly 4 months agoA nice theater over all but for Tysons mall... Was disappointed the seats weren't the reclining kind but my friend's child wanted to go. The bathroom situation was not great but cant do anything about it. From theater 15 all the way at the end, the bathroom is small with a line out the door. There are only maybe 4-5 stalls and 2 were locked. The family room was occupied too. The next bathroom I found was all the way on the other side of the large main lobby. Empty with 20+ empty stalls. Wild. Im glad I made it. It was clean. A nice refreshments selection.
