Really grungy feel if that’s what you like. I like the lowkey atmosphere, except everything was almost too lowkey. The staff took about ten minutes at the beginning of the film to work out mechanical tweaks because the movie wasn’t playing correctly. This seemed like it could’ve been done before the movie? Just felt unorganized. The bar was awesome. And if I was in the mood to have a drink I’m sure they would’ve been great. Except, I ordered a regular seltzer, and they were out. Out of seltzer? At a bar? Now the movie: so odd. I love movies; I have a movie blog where I write about movies. This was a weird movie. My friends and I chose this because it was the only film in English. We had been wanting to go for the past two weeks. Kind of disappointing :/

kick ass little bar! Great staff! Amazing programming! What more do you want from a killer micro-cinema?! A place like this is run by their love of film for lovers of film. I want to go here over and over and over again! It really was such a fun movie watching experience!

There should be more places in DC like Suns, but thankfully we at least have Suns. Other movie theaters should also do intermissions. I wish I lived closer so I’d more likely go to the less popular/well-known movies they host. But as it is I saw Fargo tonight and it felt like i was a real part of a community. There’s no better feeling.

If you're a cinephile, this is your place. I'm not, but I do love their monthly themes, variety of showings, and divey character. They put an intermission in all of their movies (!!!!) which is great, and the bar is stocked with excellent cocktails but tends to get busy quickly. A Mt Pleasant neighborhood staple for sure.

Lovely to have an independent cinema like this close to home (and in such a charming building too). Only gripe is that they could improve the projector experience a bit and have a quiet a/c going, as it gets quite stuffy in such dense, small theater. Also really they had matinee time, at least on the weekends or something!
