It truly feels different from the big brand theaters. If you like a more relaxed, casual, friendly atmosphere, then you should come here. Needless to say, it’s great to be able to bring back childhood memories (if you grew up in the 90’s) with the movies they are presenting. My only “observation” is the carpet smells a bit funky, but not important when you receive the level of service they provide.

Ah yes, Gables Art Cinema—that rare, endangered species: an independent movie theater where actual human beings still work, speak, smile, and appear to genuinely care whether you enjoy yourself. Disgusting, honestly. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear this place is doing everything wrong by modern standards. No soulless megaplex energy. No stadium-sized parking lot designed to drain your will to live. No employees who look like they were assembled in a factory and programmed to say “enjoy your movie” without blinking. Instead, you’re greeted by real people who seem to know why they’re there and—worse—actually like movies. The theater itself is absurdly charming. It’s clean, comfortable, and somehow manages to feel both nostalgic and intentional, like cinema is still considered an art form here instead of just background noise while you eat nachos the size of a small mattress. The sound and picture are great, but not in that “we spent a billion dollars to shake your organs” way—more like “we respect the movie you came to see” way. A radical concept. The film selection? Oh no. Thoughtful. Curated. Occasionally challenging. You might even leave thinking about what you just watched instead of immediately forgetting it existed. Absolute nightmare if you’re allergic to meaning. And the staff—let’s talk about them. Polite. Knowledgeable. Attentive. The kind of people who make you feel like you’re a guest instead of a transaction. Frankly unsettling. I came to watch a movie, not be reminded that community still exists. So yes, I love this place. I hate that I love it because now every other theater feels like a fluorescent-lit void of corporate despair. Gables Art Cinema ruined me. It’s cozy, classy, and unapologetically human. Highly recommend—if you’re prepared to feel feelings, appreciate cinema, and briefly remember why going to the movies used to matter.

We had a wonderful time watching the miracle movie. I was a panelist for a lecture afterwards on miracles and various fa traditions that was also sponsored by Florida international university. The staff wa's very helpful. We had a wonderful time. And it's a beautiful venue for watching movies enjoying. And I ejoyed connecting with family and friends. Highly recommended!

So glad to discover this art cinema and handy parking garage next door. Very quaint and also friendly staff. Plus the movie selection is great for a more thinking audience.
