Louis and Elaine 2 years agoWe find that the Prytania Theater is a very nice place. The theaters are large enough and the seating is very comfortable. The concessions and bar are also very good. The staff is a little less than enthusiastic about helping people. Overall this is a very good spot to enjoy a movie and we like coming here.

Calmurself 6 months agoLove this small little quaint theater! One thing that most people who go to the movies love is fresh popcorn and this place had the best crunchy, fresh popcorn that I have had in a very long time. A lot of theaters will rewarm popcorn from the day before and you can tell. Definitely will be returning again!

Operated by the Brunet family who also operates the 100+ year old Neighborhood Single-Screen Prytania Theatre located Uptown. New Orleans’s oldest operating theater expands to its second location downtown. The Prytania Theatre is over 100 years old and is the longest continually operated theatre in the South. It has been operated by the Brunet family for over 25 years. The Brunet family has been operating theatres in the New Orleans area for over 130 years! At any moment, you can find three generations of the Brunet family working in the theatre. Highly recommend for an epic experience as a date or just pure adventure and imagination
