Charming local theater with a unique vintage, artsy vibe. Staff was kind, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The theaters are smaller and more intimate, with classic seating that’s a bit firm but fits the old-school feel. Popcorn , snacks etc was fresh and delicious, and they even offer alcoholic beverages. Clean, affordable, easy online system , tons of parking (street is safe) and full of character… definitely worth a visit.

The Broad Theater is a true gem in the neighborhood—perfectly placed for downtown dwellers of New Orleans ( if you’re from New Orleans, you know what I mean about downtown vs uptown crossing either sides of Canal) Locally owned, it’s the kind of spot I love to support. The food and drinks? Honestly, they outshine Canal Place by far. With fresh films rolling in constantly, this place stays at the top of my list. Always a fave, always worth the visit.

Inside the screening rooms, it’s intimate and laid-back — perfect for indie films, cult classics, or just a relaxed night out with friends. Seats are comfy and the staff feel genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel personal and fun. Some might say the sound or size isn’t blockbuster-level, but that’s part of the charm — it’s about enjoying the movie the old-school, local way. Overall, if you’re into unique cinematic experiences with character and community energy, The Broad Theater is a place you’ll remember fondly.

I love this place. Very cozy and intimate, good drinks and snacks with great prices, Gap Tooth Cinema is always showing interesting stuff, and $6 Tuesdays are the best. Highly recommend!

Great local theater that plays a fantastic variety of films! I love catching a movie or film here. Good drinks selection and reasonable deals on concessions. The staff is friendly and helpful. The classic pin ball and arcade games are wonderful. The seats are comfortable and you can't beat the $6 Tuesday deal. Also a partner with the NOLA Film Festival! Love supporting this local theater!
