Love the intimate ambiance of this theater! Took my teen here for her birthday because she loves the Beatles, and particularly John Lennon, and this was the closest we could ever get to a live performance. Created a great memory for both of us!

This place consistently has a great repertoire of films screening, but their audio and video quality are super spotty. In my past 4 or 5 visits I’ve had the lights left on, the low end of the audio cutting out, speakers popping, and I’m pretty sure during one screening the bulb on the projector was either turned down or dying. At a time when it’s hard to justify paying theater prices it’s super disappointing to consistently experience issues like these, especially when the city has 3 other great independent theaters where you won’t experience these problems, and at least one of them also screens great movies sometimes. If Studio 35 and Grandview Theater screened good movies there would be no reason to go here at all. In the other hand if Gateway had audio and video quality at all comparable to theirs it would be without a doubt the best theater in the city.

Had an awesome time at Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie! We will probably get memberships. Very cool theater, comfortable chairs, great films.

Please go here to support local independent cinema. Quality projectors showing both new film and old classics daily. The torpedo room is a fun place to take your date beforehand as well (when its open which is sadly not enough)

Overall an okay experience. You could choose your seats & online purchase was available prior. Parking garage next door, can get validated for $3. Went on a Wednesday night and tickets were $15... inside the theatre, there was zero lighting aside from the exit sign (none lining any of the steps which seemed dangerous, or any on the walls that dimmed before/after the movie.) The seats are standard/older theatre seats, not much room in between rows for leg room.
