Alamo Drafthouse Village (Austin) - 3 stars, despite being longtime member. 😕 This was one of the worst Alamo experiences I've had. I have visited this location at least 6-7 times and bad experience was 2/3 times. In the latest visit both my orders were messed up. The server was rushing, didn't validate orders properly, and when mistakes were pointed out, it felt like a hassle to fix. For the first mistake, I had to raise another piece of paper to fix, which took a while of course. For the second mistake, I basically just stood up and chased him as he fast walked placing the order on the gable and me realizing in 2 seconds that it was the wrong order. The server almost wanted me to keep the wrong order and acted clueless when I asked if he had the piece of paper where I specifically wrote what I ordered. Raise-Card-to-order is convenient, but it backfired here - no paper trail to reference, making it tough to resolve errors. Servers need to be extra careful in this method of ordering coz there is very little time and space to fix a mistakr. One other time I just drank what was given instead of waiting to fix it. Most Alamo staff do a great job, but this experience was a letdown. Given the price tag of menu items and 18% default gratuity, I think accuracy of orders is a fair ask. The movie was the highlight, not the service. Given my history with Alamo, I'm surprised to say I'll likely avoid this location going forward. Maybe it's fixable with some staff training? Has anyone else had issues at the Village location?

This used to be one of my favorite theaters, but that chapter has come to an end. The implementation of the new mobile ordering system is disruptive to the movie experience, and it is even more frustrating considering the increase in prices when you are no longer getting true service (other than the food being brought to you). I also wish we were able to pay with cash. Menu prices are not reflected on the website, only through the link from the QR code in the seats. I recommend eating a good meal beforehand because soft drinks are $7, and food items are even more expensive.

We made the mistake of buying tickets for the wrong time—the box office was kind enough to help us figure out what happened and was able to swap our seats for the current showing so we didn’t miss our window to see the movie. Much appreciated!! Everyone was happy to help and the food came out hot and delicious. The QR code system is still frustrating, but we made the best of it.

Last time was a VERY poor experience. I was refused service because I was having issues with the QR code. I saw on the menu that if I have problems I should press the service button so I did and it was answered with a very angry man coming up to my seat, pressing the button off, and told very sternly and quickly to order on my phone, before the guy just ran off after I was trying to explain the problem. I had to chase the guy out of the theatre basically to get his attention."um hey wait! I am having an issue ordering" When I finally did I was told that its not his problem and that I had plenty of time before the movie to order food. I live across the street. I very often will walk across and have some dinner and a movie and I always tip well because I am in the industry. But this was ridiculous. I understand that the establishment is changing with the times and it is not a full table service kind of place. But the way this was handled was about as rude as it could of been. I asked another employee and he told me yes he could order some food to my table and was very polite explaining how the new process works but honestly by that time I just wanted to watch my movie and leave so I decided to not order food and just eat and tip elsewhere.

Been a loyal Alamo costumer for nearly 10 years, im officially done though. None of us had phones on us so we tried to ask for a physical menu, were met with nothing but rudeness, like full on ignored when we tried to ask questions. I've now canceled my subscription through them and will never set foot in a single Alamo ever again. Such a shame
