Nice movie theatre in downtown Austin. It’s easy to get to and they give you free parking. There’s also a bar and a lounge area. The theatres itself are small but comfortable. We drove 40 minutes here just to see a movie not shown anywhere else in the area; still worth it.

First time trying Violet Crown on a Sunday morning and I thought it was fine. Not sure if I’d return back...I just wanted to try something different than my usual Alamo Drafthouse and Regal. The price is a little steep for $16 especially when there’s normal seats and no recliners. The seats also feel small and the cup holder doesn’t even fit a normal water bottle I brought in. Also when I arrived, there wasn’t food yet (my movie started at 10 am and kitchen opened at same time so didn’t want to miss beginning of movie). Kinda misleading because the online cafe menu says “all day everyday” for hours. However, they did validate my parking for four hours at the 2nd Street garage, so that saved me $30. Note: The theaters are FREEZING. Consider bringing a blanket. My long pants and sweatshirt still wasn’t enough.

Modern and intimate theater in downtown Austin. Small theaters, but that's what I was looking for. It was a pitty that sometimes you could here the sound of the neighboring theater. But all in all a pretty good experience. 7 out of 10.

This was a wonderful theater. Comfortable clean theaters and great snacks with great service from the staff. I very much enjoyed my experience! Highly recommend! Also a great location for pre or post restaurant dining and shopping.

Always a great experience with friendly staff and comfortable seating. Really enjoy the occasional special programming to find something in town other than the mundane and am truly excited to start going to their own monthly showings as part of the 2nd Story Film Club that just kicked off; seeing “Tangerine (2015)” for the first time was a true delight.
