What a quirky little movie theater this is. Inside the opera plaza building a stone’s throw from SF city hall, this is a small four screen movie theater showing smaller release films. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. I’m not even sure they care about checking tickets as I just walked in to my showing. As I usually go to the main AMC for my movie goings, I’ll have to remember this place for movie options.

Such a charming theater! Super clean and their recent remodel looks fantastic. The seats are very comfortable. Not the gigantic recliners, but nice seats that can lean back a bit. There’s a really lovely bar area where you could enjoy a snack or beverage before the movie. They always have the best foreign and independent films that you can’t find anywhere else. “Drive My Car” was a wonderful film!!

we actually went to Maxs Opera cafe. excellent NY deli food, bar with piano. multi plex cinema, and bookstore on site

Great intimate theater but absolutely the worst movie theater popcorn. Three bites and I left the rest. $9.99 for a small size which is beyond highway robbery. I complained but was met with a whatever attitude by the staff. Whatever they’re doing isn’t working. Pop some microwave popcorn at home. You’ll actually be able to eat it and save your money!
