Cute little theatre located in the heart of the Marina. They show a variety of films, including classics and new releases like some of the Oscar nominees for best picture. It's nice to have so many options for smaller independent movie theaters in San Francisco, so I try to support them. This theatre is cozy, but it feels a bit old and tired. I was in cinema 2 and the sound felt muffled and the dialogue was sometimes difficult to understand. This was for a new release, so I don't think it was an issue with the film. I'm not sure if that's a common issue or not in this theatre. The theatre wasn't too full on a Thursday evening. There were about a dozen other viewers. Could be a nice spot for a date night, and there are lots of great restaurants nearby to eat at beforehand.

Rode 40 minutes by bus to arrive at the theater and be told the movie is canceled because of a tech problem. They refunded us and offered us to see another movie free of charge, but we really weren't interested in the other two options. I just wish they had sent a notification informing guests about the cancellation, instead of telling us at the door. Big disappointment.

Since I’ve been going here, the issues with this theater have been more noticeable than before. Especially with the sound quality, grime, and outdated seating. It feels like a theater from the 90sz

They need to shut this place down. We waited 30 minutes for the movie to start and no one informed us about some problem in the projection booth. People had to go out and ask them to start the movie because they couldn’t be bothered to tell anyone waiting that there were issues. We just asked for a refund and left.
