Came here to bring in NYE. It was a very special surprise for my wife because they were showing Purple Rain and Signs of The Times this night. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. They gave us a gift bag, complimentary champagne when 12 am struck, the dropped balloons and they even had someone bring guitars that were one owned by Prince himself. This was more than I expected. She and I had a blast singing and talking with fellow Peince fans

Single-screen movie theatre with affordable ticket prices, a small selection of concessions, and a clean bathroom. I bought a ticket online and the code was scanned by a staff member in the lobby. If you wanted to buy a ticket onsite, you could. There isn't reserved seating and it's an old theatre, so the seats are almost the same level, not stadium-style. Get there early if you want a good seat. Don't worry about missing the beginning of the movie if you're late though; the movie starts 15 minutes after the showtime. While watching the trailers, I decided to go back out to the lobby to grab some popcorn. It was $7 for a small and $8 for a large. I bought the large size and received a mountain of popcorn. I didn't finish the bag. If you're going with someone, I think a large would be enough for two or three people, more if they're children. After the movie, I went to the restroom, which can only accommodate one person at a time. The doorway looked wide enough for a wheelchair. It was clean but I noticed an opening in the ceiling. After heading out, I saw an advertisement for a $50 for 5 admissions discount card. If you're a regular at this theatre, I recommend buying that. Overall, it was a nice, old-timey movie theatre with quick service and it was a pleasant experience.

On New Years Eve 2025, exactly one year ago, I was assaulted outside of the Vogue Theater. I had a rough 2024. Lost my job, Got out of a relationship. Lost my car. Was dealing with the loss of my cat. Ended up cutting myself off and lost friendships. It does not necessarily justify it, but it comes as no surprise that on 12/31/24, I was desperately trying to self medicate. I had gone to the Vogue Theater for a Purple Rain/ Sign ‘O’ The Times double feature. I had been drinking prior to going to the movie theater, and ordered another beer when I arrived. After the countdown, I continued to get drunk off prepoured champagne glasses. At one point, I remember grabbing the entire champagne bottle and stowing away in the bathroom. I am not trying to make excuses for or defend my actions, but at the time, these actions made sense as a coping mechanism. Eventually I was confronted by the owners of the theater, taken outside and asked to leave. I distinctly remember one of the owners bragging about how he knew the local cops and he could ring them right then and now. And for whatever reason, despite the fact that they were two grown men dealing with one drunk unarmed individual who posed ZERO physical threat, they pepper sprayed me at point blank range. Regardless of how much I'd drank, this is absolutely not how you should act as an event host, especially at an NYE party. At no point was I asked if I was okay, nor was I offered water. After walking from the theater with absolutely no sense of direction, I remember passing out at a bus stop. freezing and no idea how to get home. At some point around 4am, I woke up and saw a driver pull up and offer me a ride claiming to be an Uber driver. Now, normally, one would be more skeptical, but that was proven difficult after I had been pepper sprayed and chased out. I distinctly remember while sitting in the passenger seat, the driver groping my thigh, telling me to stay still. Despite the pepper spray, despite all the drinks, I remember feeling completely paralyzed as the streets started to take shape. I remember yelling at the top of my lungs and screaming my address. When we finally arrived, the driver paused, and then noticed that my roommate was coming home right at that same time as well. If that coincidence hadn't occurred, I have no idea how worse that night could have gone. I spent New Years Day 2025 in bed, nursing a hangover and a remarkably swollen and burnt face, and put Heat and Moonstruck on the TV. I knew I needed to make a change. Despite the fact that my face still burned and would continue to burn for the next week, I went back to the Vogue Theater to retrieve a hat I'd left near my seat. After giving me back my hat and reprimanding me once more, the same man from the night laughed and asked me “how'd you like that face full of pepper spray?” Tomorrow, New Years Day 2026, will mark one year sober for me. I am very happy to have made this milestone, am incredibly appreciative of the support my friends and family have extended, and above all, am grateful for the clarity and confidence it's given me to speak up about how terribly I was treated by the staff at the Vogue Theater last year, who were too bent on playing cowboy than they were helping a patron.

I'm a big fan of independent, neighborhood movie houses, and this one is no exception. Yummy snacks and beverages, friendly staff (had a quick interesting chat about Bobby McFerrin), and a great roster of films. Go check them out, get on the mailing list and support independent film houses!

A delightful old school theater with an eclectic mix of vintage films, live performances, and the best of current releases. A charming time overall and we will be back to see some of their other special presentations
