DS 7 months agoFirst time here to see a movie before netflix release. Comfortable theater and good quality screen. Concession staff was rude and unwelcoming. Discounted parking vouchers provided did not work in their recommended parking garage and no one available to help. Mouse also crawled behind screen towards end of the movie.
J P 7 months agoI really enjoy this theater. It’s old for sure and needs some repairs but it has a lot of charm. I’ve gotten to see so many great films here and I’ll continue to come. The only complaint I have is with one of the employees. They usually wear a neon green hat, glasses and a mask over their mouth. I’ve been to this theater multiple times over the years, probably in the triple digits at this point. Every single time I come to this theater and they are working at the concession stand they are sitting their staring at their phone, rolling their eyes if you don’t automatically know what else you want to get. One specific time I was being waited on by them and when I couldn’t decide instantly what drink to get they said “ Oh Cmon” and let out a big sigh. I was so taken back because I was nothing but kind. Last time I was here it was no different, I overheard them make a comment about a guest saying “I don’t care nor will I ever about these people” and when I was being waited on I walked up and waited for them to say anything while I said “hi how are you” and they said “what do you want”. And when I said large popcorn they just pressed the button to put my card down to pay, didn’t ask “can I get anything else for you?” Or anything. I have worked for a big movie chain for years now, I like coming to this theater because it plays a lot of the indies and Netflix films we don’t get. In the 8+ years I’ve been in this industry I have never encountered someone as rude and uncaring that works in theater operations. It’s customer service. You are in service of the public. Yes it can suck sometimes but it’s the job and the industry. Being personable and a good employee is apart of it. The miserable look this employee had every single time a guest walks up is actually laughable. One thing is sure is that you should not be working at this theater.
Timara Staten 6 months ago⭐☆☆☆☆ – Freezing Experience I was really looking forward to enjoying a nice movie night, but the temperature inside the theater was so low that it was hard to focus on anything except how cold I was. The movie room honestly felt like being outside — and this is in the dead smack of winter! It shouldn’t feel like you need to bundle up indoors just to get through a film. My boyfriend even had to wear mittens inside, which says it all. The movie itself was good, but it’s hard to enjoy when you’re shivering the whole time. I really hope management fixes the heating situation soon. The screen’s quality was bad as well. The movie seemed dark.
Neal Andrews 4 months agoI’ve gone to the Ritz 5 since the 1990s and enjoyed it for many years. They show the films I want to see. It’s gone completely down hill. Run down, in need of repairs, dirty and the bathroom is disgusting. Employees are unfriendly and act like they are doing you a favor by processing your purchases. Just saw the 2026 Oscar Short Live Action nominees (pretty good this year). 12 people in the theater. A matter of time now….
Dalal Hassan 3 months agoWent to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live shadow cast here. Everyone was in costume singing along and shouting callbacks. Mad props to the actors & actresses for doing a great job lip-syncing and mimicking the characters in real-time. A truly unforgettable experience!
