Love this place and the offerings it has. I became a SIFF member this year so I can take advantage of discounted tickets and concessions. It's not any more expensive than going to a big chain theater; however, they tend to have a good mix of big wide release and niche independent film. The variety is a major draw for me as well as friendly staff, clean theater, and how the space integrates with the neighborhood.

Best cinema in Seattle! Amazing film selection, a great mix of indie films, international picks, themed shows, and classics. The equipment’s a bit dated, but the vibe is unbeatable with great concessions. Very friendly staff. Plus they have $6 Monday deal. A true local gem.

Seats aren’t comfortable. Tickets are pricey for the quality you get. The commercials don’t even start on time, usually starting after 5 minutes. I went to several Martin Scorsese movies and the guy that curated the series would give an unnecessary speech before each movie. That would more tolerable if they at least started on time.

If you think you had a bad day, it's because you haven’t met some of the employees at this location. The man working the concession stand with glasses and a cap this Monday 19th at 4 PM was unnecessarily rude. Great programming, yes, but the experience is overshadowed when you're treated poorly.

SIFF year round programming is incredible. I don’t love the way that check in works for the uptown, sometimes there’s a random line and it’s not clear what’s happening, but I don’t know if there’s any better alternative. I still go to the uptown more than almost any other theater because of the great selection, great programs, some very good concessions, and very reasonable prices
