Fonzie Gonz a month agoLocation was marketed as a Las Vegas Sphere-like experience for $15. It didn’t disappoint! I made the mistake of thinking I could just show up on the weekend and watch whatever show, but these tickets sell out fast the day of! The theater has a huge screen that blends high into the ceiling and the seats were very comfortable. It was a hit with the kiddos 😁 While the visuals and sound were very immersive, the theater does not have any 4D effects (wind, vibrations, etc.) so it could definitely benefit from upgrades. However, for the price and overall museum experience, this an absolute must go for the family when visiting DFW.
Jeanette 2 months agoMy review for a Friday 2:30 showing of Orbital Purchasing tickets online was a breeze and easily added to my Google wallet. It included a bonus film, Stars at Night. Parking: Don't be fooled by the open lot next to the building it's only for preschool, not general parking. Turn into the large parking garage next to Museum. You can walk out and straight to the theater entrance across the street. I wasn't thrilled with the check in process. There is no assigned seating. I understand a first come first serve basis, but we were only allowed in 5 minutes before the start of show. There was no lining up ahead of time. I saw people who had just arrived get checked in first, while other people who had gotten comfortable with drinks and popcorn, last to be seated. I was immediately uncomfortable when I sat down. The seat backs have no ability to recline. If you enjoy sitting straight up, you'll enjoy yourself. I didn't understand this design at all with a dome screen, looking straight ahead you're missing scenes above your head. Turning your head up extends your neck and is as equally uncomfortable. Thankfully the show was only 25 minutes. There was introductory drone footage of Fort Worth that I really liked. It was cool to see the highlights of thr city. While I enjoyed the content of Orbital, the visuals, the narrative and overall message, it would have been better received and more appealing had I enjoyed my physical position. This particular matinee included another film, The Stars at Night: Deep in the Heart of Texas, which was 23 minutes long. There was an announcement and a short pause to exit if you chose not to see it. It was very informative and threw a lot of names of stars and constellations at us. Overall, I enjoyed the shows, but wasn't impressed with any aspects. I just couldn't fully enjoy myself with the physical discomfort and limited field of view.
Melissa Tyson 3 months agoFort Worth Museum of Science and History offers a truly unique sensory experience, especially with the live music performances in the new Omni Theater. Immersive Audio: The 15.4-channel sound system is powerful enough to feel the low-frequency synth beats and deep cello notes physically in your seat. 8K Visuals: The new LED dome provides incredible clarity for celestial details, such as the "hairy" magnetic filaments on the Sun and the glowing atmosphere of Saturn's moon, Titan. Atmosphere: While the show leans heavily into scientific data and "particle" visualizations, the live musical accompaniment adds a much-needed layer of human emotion to the vast scale of space.
F R 11 months agoPaid $16 online for the ticket and paid $12 for the Will Rogers Stadium parking lot, which is located right across from the Omni Theatre. Arrived an hour earlier to find parking and make a line with the early arrivals for the first come first serve seating. The lobby area has the snack booth, ticket booth, seating area, and waiting line area. Place was packed during Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend buying tickets online in advance. Employees were very kind and nice when asked questions. Went to watch the Bear film and it was the BEST EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had with a dome shaped film (10/10!!). This is a place that once you visit once you’ll end up visiting time after time because of how well put together the experience is for the viewer. Amazed with how clean the pixels of the movie were and the sound was just the right volume.
Monica Roberts 6 months agoLoved the vibe and atmosphere of this theater. You can order your tickets at the venue or online and you can even purchase refreshments at the venue as well. They have parking close proximity througout the venue. The staff was helpful and friendly. They offer a plethora of shows ranging from Aninal Kingdom, Wild Rescue, TRex, Butterfly Journey, Orbital and even Inside Pop Art. My family enjoyed the Shark Kingdom showing. Wished it could've been a little longer but definitely recommend to go to experience the new renovated COSM technology.
